How we calculate the SSL Certificates Insight and why might it be empty
How do we calculate this Insight?
Block 64 can discover SSL certificates using our Discovery Appliance. For each SSL, we can determine the IP address it is associated with, the protocol it leverages, its end date, and the key length.
The Insights associated with this page deal with the count of how many SSLs have been discovered and the days until expiration of the SSL certificate. “Total SSL Certificates” is the count of all SSL certificates discovered, while the “Servers” and “Other” Insights show the count of SSLs discovered on servers or something else in the network.
The status of the SSL certificate is based on comparing the “End Date” to today's date. The SSL will be grouped based on how many days are left until the SSL certificate expires.
Why might this Insight be empty or missing data?
Since this data is gathered by our Discovery Appliance, you will need to ensure that you are running this product. If not, you can work with our success team to deploy a new instance. If you are running the Appliance, but are still missing data, you can also schedule a troubleshooting session with that team.
