How we calculate the Estimated Annual Savings Insight and why might it be empty

The Estimated Annual Savings Insight highlights potential cost savings your organization could achieve by reclaiming or eliminating unused or redundant endpoint security software. It helps IT and security teams identify opportunities to streamline tools, reduce overlap, and save money without compromising endpoint protection.

How do we calculate this Insight?

This Insight is based on installed software data collected from your environment using:

  • Block 64 Discovery Application

  • Block 64 Discovery Appliance

  • Jamf Pro Integration (for macOS devices)

The report shows:

  • Estimated Annual Savings – the projected amount you could save by removing or consolidating underused security software.

  • Contextual cost data – tied to installed endpoint security, antivirus, and identity management products.

This provides a clear, annualized view of where savings opportunities exist within your endpoint security stack.

Why might this Insight be empty or missing data?

This Insight may appear empty or incomplete if:

  • The Discovery Application or Appliance is not fully set up or has not yet completed data ingestion from your environment.

  • Endpoints are not reporting properly or are not included in scheduled scans.

  • If using Jamf Pro, the integration has not been configured correctly or required permissions are missing.

Troubleshooting Checklist:

  • Verify that a discovery tool (Application, Appliance, or Jamf Pro) is installed and reporting correctly.

  • Allow sufficient time for initial data ingestion, especially in larger environments.

  • If using Jamf Pro, confirm the integration is connected and the API role includes the correct read privileges.

  • Ensure endpoints are online and accessible during collection.
