The Underused Commercial Product by Cost Insight identifies commercial software installed in your environment that shows little or no recent activity. This helps organizations uncover opportunities to reclaim, reassign, or reduce spend on unused licenses.

How do we calculate this Insight?

This Insight is based on software inventory data collected from your environment using:

• Block 64 Discovery Application

• Block 64 Discovery Appliance

• Jamf Pro integration (for macOS devices)

It highlights:

• Commercial software products installed on devices.

• Licenses with little or no observed activity over a recent period.

• Estimated recoverable cost, based on unused or underused licenses.

The purpose is to make it easy to see which products may be taking up budget without delivering value.

Why might this Insight be empty or missing data?

This Insight may appear empty if:

• The Discovery Application or Appliance has not been fully deployed or is still collecting data.

• Endpoints are not reporting correctly or have limited visibility.

• If using Jamf Pro, the integration is not fully configured or permissions are incomplete.

Troubleshooting Checklist:

• Confirm that a Block 64 discovery tool (Application, Appliance, or Jamf Pro) is installed and actively reporting.

• Allow time for data collection to complete, especially in larger environments.

• If using Jamf Pro, verify that the integration is connected and permissions are configured correctly.

• Ensure endpoints are online and accessible during collection.
