The Top Installed Commercial Products Insight highlights the most frequently installed commercially licensed software across your environment. It helps IT teams quickly identify which business applications are most common, supporting license management, compliance reviews, and vendor optimization efforts.

How do we calculate this Insight?

This Insight is based on commercially licensed installed software discovered in your environment using:

• Block 64 Discovery Application

• Block 64 Discovery Appliance

• Block 64 Agent (where deployed)

It displays:

• A ranked list of the top installed commercial software products, measured by total installation count.

• Visibility into which vendors and products represent the largest share of your organization’s software footprint.

This allows IT and procurement teams to prioritize vendor negotiations, licensing decisions, and standardization strategies.

Why might this Insight be empty or missing data?

This Insight should normally show results for any environment with commercial software installed. It may appear empty if:

• The Discovery Appliance, Application, or Agent is not configured correctly and not collecting software inventory.

• Endpoint data ingestion is still in progress or not yet staged in the Insights portal.

• The environment does not contain any commercially licensed software (for example, only free or non-commercial software is installed).

Troubleshooting Checklist:

• Verify that the Block 64 Discovery Appliance, Application, or Agent is installed and actively reporting.

• Confirm that software inventory collection is enabled for all inventoried devices.

• Allow time for initial data ingestion, especially in large or complex environments.

• Check whether the environment contains commercially licensed software, if not, the Insight will remain empty.
