Cloud : Public : Compute Cost Change
How we calculate the Public Cloud Compute Cost Change Insight and why might it be empty
How do we calculate this Insight?
Block 64 can connect into the management portal for public cloud providers. Costs associated with cloud consumption can be reviewed in the portal. Block 64 can read this information and aggregate it in our insights portal.
The “Public Cloud Compute Cost Change” Insight is the difference between your previous month's cloud spend, or “Total Cloud Compute Cost”, and your current month's cloud spend.
Why might this Insight be empty or missing data?
The Compute Cost Change Insight may appear empty or incomplete if:
-
Missing Cloud Integration
-
No AWS or Azure integrations are configured, so cost data cannot be retrieved.
-
-
Incorrect Permissions
-
For AWS: the Role ARN is misconfigured or missing the required billing/usage permissions.
-
For Azure: the integration account does not have sufficient privileges to access cost and usage data.
-
-
No Cost Data Available for the Period
-
If there is no recorded compute spend in the previous or current month, no change can be displayed.
-
-
Data Ingestion Delay
-
Cost and usage data from AWS or Azure may still be processing, especially for newly added accounts or subscriptions.
