Adding the Zoom Integration and Its Associated Insights
Overview
The Zoom connection in Block 64 enables secure, read-only access to meeting, webinar, and account-level usage data from your organization’s Zoom environment. This integration allows Block 64 to collect information about meeting activity, user licenses, and billing details to provide visibility into collaboration usage and cost optimization opportunities.
Once connected, the data collected from this integration appears in the following Block 64 Insights reports:
-
Reports → SaaS → Usage – Displays meeting and webinar activity, user participation, and scheduling trends.
-
Reports → SaaS → Licensing – Shows active license types, allocations, and subscription utilization.
The credentials needed for this Integration
To set up this integration, you’ll need:
-
A Zoom Administrator account with the ability to authorize third-party apps.
This integration requires the following permissions:
-
Retrieve account plan and billing information.
-
List invoices and plan usage.
-
View users, groups, and sub-accounts.
-
(Optional) View meeting and webinar metrics if your organization tracks them.
Note: The Block 64 Zoom integration uses read-only API scopes, it cannot schedule meetings, access meeting content, or make configuration changes.
How to add this Integration
-
-
In the Block 64 portal, navigate to Integrations.
-
Select Zoom, input your Zoom Administrator credentials, and click Connect.
-
You will be redirected to the official Zoom authorization screen.
-
Review the permissions requested by Block 64 and click Allow to approve access. -
Required permissions include viewing account information, plan details, usage metrics, and user data.
-
Optional permissions (such as viewing meeting, webinar, or sub-account metrics) enable the integration to collect the full dataset. It is highly recommended to have all optional permissions checked to ensure full visibility across usage, licensing, and billing data. Without these, only basic Usage data will be available, the full Licensing dataset will not be retrieved.

-
- Once authorized, you will be redirected back to the Block 64 portal, where the Zoom connection will display as Active.
Why is this Integration failing?
If the integration isn’t working or is returning incomplete data, it’s usually due to one of the following reasons:
-
Missing optional scopes – If only the required permissions were granted, Block 64 can retrieve Usage data but not the full Licensing dataset. Reconnecting the integration and granting all optional scopes will enable complete reporting.
-
Insufficient permissions – The app was not approved by a Zoom admin or lacks required API scopes.
-
Expired or revoked token – The authorization may have expired or been revoked from the Zoom admin portal.
-
Incorrect account type – The connection must be created using an account with Admin or Owner privileges.
-
Integration removed – The Block 64 integration may have been removed from your Zoom marketplace.
To fix this:
-
Reconnect the integration using a Zoom Admin or Owner account.
-
Ensure all required and optional scopes are granted when prompted to allow full dataset access.
-
In Zoom’s App Marketplace → Manage → Installed Apps, confirm that Block 64 remains active and authorized.
Security & Privacy
-
All access is read-only — Block 64 cannot create, modify, or delete meetings, users, or configurations.
-
Meeting content, audio, video, and chat messages are never accessed. Only metadata (meeting duration, participants, license type, etc.) is collected.
-
Data is handled in compliance with Block 64’s Privacy Policy and Zoom’s Developer Terms of Use.
-
Permissions can be reviewed or revoked anytime in the Zoom App Marketplace → Manage → Installed Apps.
