Adding the Microsoft 365 - PSTN Integration and Its Associated Insights
The Microsoft 365 PSTN connection in Block 64 enables secure, read-only access to your organization’s Microsoft Teams Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) usage data.
This integration provides insights into telephony activity, call usage, and related licensing, helping organizations analyze adoption and optimize communication costs.
Once connected, the data collected from this integration appears in the following Block 64 Insights reports:
-
Reports → SaaS → Usage – Displays usage activity and adoption trends for Microsoft Teams PSTN.
-
Reports → SaaS → Licensing – Shows license assignments and usage data tied to PSTN services.
The credentials needed for this Integration
To set up this integration, you’ll need:
-
A Microsoft 365 account with Global Administrator or another admin role authorized to grant tenant-wide delegated permissions.
-
The ability to approve access for the M365 PSTN Connection (Read-Only) app published by Block 64 Corporation.
How to add this Integration
-
In the Block 64 portal, navigate to Integrations →Microsoft 365 PSTN and click Connect.
-
Sign in using a Microsoft 365 account with the required administrator role.
-
On the Permissions requested screen for M365 PSTN Connection (Read-Only), review and approve the required access.
-
Select Consent on behalf of your organization to prevent requiring individual user approvals.
-
Click Accept to authorize the integration.
Why is this Integration failing?
If the integration isn’t working, it’s often due to one of the following:
-
Permissions not granted – The admin did not approve all required delegated permissions during setup.
-
Expired or revoked consent – The integration token may have expired or been revoked in Microsoft Entra ID.
-
Incorrect account role – The account used must have sufficient administrative privileges.
-
Conditional access policies – Security policies in Entra ID may be preventing Block 64 from accessing PSTN usage data.
To fix this:
-
Reconnect using an account with the required admin role.
-
Ensure “Consent on behalf of your organization” is selected during setup.
-
In Microsoft Entra Enterprise Applications, confirm that M365 PSTN Connection (Read-Only) is still active and authorized.
