Integrations : SaaS: SalesForce
Adding the SalesForce Integration and Its Associated Insights
Overview
The Salesforce connection in Block 64 enables secure, read-only access to CRM data from your organization's Salesforce environment. Salesforce is the world's leading CRM platform used for managing customer relationships, sales pipelines, and business operations.
This integration collects data about your organization's Salesforce environment, including accounts, contacts, opportunities, leads, and user activity, providing enhanced visibility into sales performance, pipeline health, and CRM adoption across your teams.
Once connected, the data collected from this integration appears in the following Block 64 Insights report:
Reports → SaaS → Usage – Displays Salesforce user activity, adoption trends, and CRM engagement across your organization.
The credentials needed for this Integration
To set up this integration, you'll need:
- A Salesforce account with System Administrator privileges (or an equivalent role with permission to authorize connected apps and access organization-wide data).
- The ability to grant delegated, read-only permissions to Block 64 on behalf of your organization.
- An Admin Email address associated with the Salesforce administrator account that has the appropriate permissions to access the desired data.
Note: API access must be enabled for your Salesforce edition (included with Enterprise, Unlimited, Performance, and Developer editions; available as an add-on for Professional edition).
How to add this Integration
- In the Block 64 Insights portal, navigate to Integrations → Salesforce.
- In the Admin Email field, enter the email address associated with your Salesforce administrator account.
- Ensure the Integration Connection toggle is set to Enabled.
- Click Connect.
- You will be redirected to Salesforce to complete the authorization flow. Sign in using your Salesforce administrator account.
- Review and approve the requested permissions to grant Block 64 access.
After authorization, the integration will show as connected, and Salesforce data will begin syncing into Block 64.
Tip: The Integration Connection toggle lets you enable or disable data collection at any time without deleting your integration credentials.
Security & Privacy
All access is read-only. Block 64 cannot create, modify, or delete any records, configurations, or users in your Salesforce environment.
Only metadata and activity information required for usage and adoption reporting is collected — record contents such as notes, attachments, files, and email messages are never read or stored.
Data is handled in compliance with Block 64's Privacy Policy and Salesforce's Terms of Service.
Permissions can be reviewed or revoked at any time from Salesforce Setup under Connected Apps.
Why is this Integration failing?
If the integration isn't working, it's usually caused by:
- Insufficient permissions – The email entered does not belong to a Salesforce account with administrator-level access, so organization-wide data cannot be collected.
- Authorization not completed – The Salesforce authorization flow was closed or canceled before approval.
- Access revoked – The Block 64 connected app was blocked or its OAuth tokens were revoked in Salesforce Setup.
- API access unavailable – The Salesforce edition in use does not have API access enabled.
- Security policies – Login IP ranges, session settings, or connected app policies in Salesforce may be blocking the connection.
- Integration disabled – The Integration Connection toggle is set to Disabled, pausing data collection.
To fix this:
- Reconnect using a valid Salesforce System Administrator account and complete the authorization flow when redirected to Salesforce.
- In Salesforce Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage, confirm the Block 64 app is still authorized and not blocked.
- Verify that API access is enabled for your Salesforce edition.
- Verify that the Integration Connection toggle is set to Enabled in the Block 64 Insights portal.
- Sign in to Salesforce as an administrator.
- Go to Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage (Setup → App Manager on some editions).
- Locate the Block 64 connected app.
- Click Revoke (or Block) to revoke all access tokens and prevent further connections.
How to remove this Integration
From Block 64:
You can disable this integration temporarily by clicking on the Enable switch in the integration. This pauses data collection without deleting your integration credentials.
Alternatively, you can disconnect the integration entirely by clicking on the Disconnect button.
To permanently remove all collected data, click Delete Data under Delete Integration Data.
⚠️ This cannot be undone — all collected data for this integration will be permanently removed, and the integration will be disconnected.
From Salesforce:
- Sign in to Salesforce as an administrator.
- Go to Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage (Setup → App Manager on some editions).
- Locate the Block 64 connected app.
- Click Revoke (or Block) to revoke all access tokens and prevent further connections.
