Integrations: SaaS: BambooHR
Adding the BambooHR Integration and Its Associated Insights
Overview
The BambooHR connection in Block 64 enables secure, read-only access to workforce data across your organization's BambooHR environment. BambooHR is a human resources information system (HRIS) used by organizations to manage employee records, time off, benefits, and onboarding. Block 64 uses this connector to collect data about your organization's workforce — including employee profiles, employment history, job titles, departments, reporting structure, time-off balances, and relevant HR documents — to improve visibility into headcount, roles, and HR processes. Once connected, the data collected from this integration appears in the following Block 64 Insights report: Reports → IT Asset Management → SaaS → Usage – Workforce activity data based on BambooHR users, employment history, departments, job titles, and reporting structure.
The credentials needed for this Integration
To set up this integration, you'll need:
- A BambooHR account with administrative access to your organization's BambooHR environment.
- Your BambooHR Organization URL in the format https://subdomain.bamboohr.com.
- A BambooHR API Key generated from your BambooHR admin account. API keys can be created in BambooHR under your account profile settings.
How to add this Integration
- In the Block 64 Insights portal, navigate to Integrations → BambooHR.
- Enter your BambooHR Organization URL (e.g. https://yoursubdomain.bamboohr.com).
- Enter the API Key generated from your BambooHR admin account.
- Ensure the Integration Connection toggle is set to Enabled.
- Click Connect. Block 64 will use the API key to collect read-only workforce and HR metadata from your BambooHR environment.
Security & Privacy
All access is read-only. Block 64 cannot modify, delete, or create any records in your BambooHR environment. Only the data necessary to support headcount, role, and HR process visibility is collected — including employee profiles, job titles, departments, reporting structure, time-off balances, and relevant HR documents. No passwords, payroll details, or financial records are accessed. Data is handled in compliance with Block 64's Privacy Policy and BambooHR's Terms of Service.
Why is this Integration failing?
If the integration isn't working, it's usually because the API key has been revoked, expired, or does not belong to an account with the required administrative permissions. It may also fail if the Organization URL is entered incorrectly. To resolve:
- Confirm the BambooHR Organization URL is correct and uses the format https://yoursubdomain.bamboohr.com.
- Verify that the API key is still active and has not been deleted or regenerated in BambooHR.
- Ensure that the BambooHR account associated with the API key has administrative permissions.
- Re-enter the credentials in Block 64 and reconnect.
How to remove this Integration
From Block 64: You can disable this integration temporarily by clicking on the Integration Connection toggle — this pauses data collection without deleting your saved credentials.
To remove the integration entirely, click the Disconnect button.
Note: Disconnecting this integration will stop data flow, potentially impact reporting accuracy, and system insights.
From BambooHR: Sign in to your BambooHR admin account. Navigate to your Account Profile → API Keys. Locate the API key created for Block 64 and delete it to fully revoke access.
