How we calculate the Warranty Insight and why might it be empty

The Warranty Insight provides visibility into the warranty coverage of hardware devices in your environment. It helps IT teams track start and end dates for warranties, ensuring you know which devices are covered, which are approaching expiration, and which are already out of coverage. This supports lifecycle planning, budgeting, and risk management for your hardware assets.

How do we calculate this Insight?

This Insight is powered by data from:

  • Jamf Pro Devices integration (for Apple/macOS devices)

  • Block 64 Warranty job (applies to any customer with a configured Site)

It collects and displays:

  • Warranty details applied to a hardware device (endpoint)

  • Coverage start and end dates

  • Device-level warranty status, helping you determine which assets are active, nearing expiration, or expired

This enables proactive hardware lifecycle management and helps organizations avoid unexpected support costs.

Why might this Insight be empty or missing data?

The Warranty Insight may appear empty if:

  • The Jamf Pro Devices integration is not configured correctly, preventing warranty information from being collected.

  • The customer does not have a Site configured in Block 64, which is required for the Warranty job to run.

Troubleshooting Checklist:

  • Confirm that the Jamf Pro Devices integration is connected and configured properly (if applicable).

  • Verify that a Site has been created and configured in Block 64.

  • Ensure the Warranty job has been scheduled and allowed time to complete its first collection.

  • Review whether the devices in scope actually include warranty information.
