Deploying Agent via InTune
There are two supported methods for deploying the Block 64 Discovery Agent using Microsoft Intune:

Deploy via MSI (as a Line-of-Business app)

Deploy via PowerShell Script
⚠️ Important: Using the PowerShell script requires your environment to allow PowerShell execution, as well as application download and installation permissions on target devices.
Deployment Options
Deploying via MSI

Log in to Intune Admin Center
Navigate to https://devicemanagement.microsoft.com or access via the Azure Portal > Intune. -
Navigate to Apps

In the left-hand menu, click Apps.

Then select All Apps from the right-hand pane.

Add New App
-
Click Add.
-
From the App type dropdown, scroll down and select Line-of-business app, then click Select.

Upload the MSI File
-
Click the folder icon to browse and upload the Slingshot.MSI file saved locally.

Configure Application Details
After uploading, complete the configuration form:-
Publisher:
Block 64
-
App install context:
Device
-
Ignore app version:
Yes
-
Command-line arguments:
ENROLLMENT_TOKEN="your-customer-specific-token"
⚠️ Each enrollment token is unique to your environment. Contact your Block 64 Engagement Lead or Partner to obtain the correct token.

Assign the App to Devices or Groups

Choose assignment groups or target All Devices.

Ensure the app is listed under the Required section to enforce installation.

Finalize and Deploy
-
Click Next, review the settings, and then click Create.

Monitor Deployment
-
Wait for the MSI to upload. A red banner stating “Your app is not ready yet” may appear temporarily.

Once uploaded, the app will appear under All Apps.

Click the app to view the Device Status including assigned, installed, pending, and failed deployments.

Deploying via PowerShell Script

Log in to Intune Admin Center
-
Create a PowerShell Script Deployment

Go to Devices > Scripts
-
Click Add > Windows 10 and later
-

Script Details
-
Name: Enter a descriptive name
-
Description: (Optional) Provide a meaningful description

Click Next
-
-
Script Settings
-
Script location: Browse to the PowerShell script
-
Run using logged on credentials:
No
-
Enforce script signature check:
No
-
Run script in 64-bit PowerShell host:
Yes
-
Uninstallation Steps
-
Go to Slingshot App Properties
-
In All Apps, select the Slingshot deployment
-
Click Properties, then click Edit next to Assignments
-

Switch from Install to Uninstall
-
Remove current assignment groups from Required and Available for Enrolled Devices
-
Scroll to the Uninstall section and add the same groups
-
-
Save and Apply Changes
-
Click Review + Save to confirm the uninstallation setup
-
Once completed, the agent will be removed from the assigned devices
-

Remove the Application (Optional)
-
After successful uninstallation, return to All Apps and delete the Slingshot entry if it is no longer required.
