This guide will help you make the most of your free trial of the Block 64 Insights platform, a powerful tool designed to uncover cost savings, identify risks, and provide deep visibility into your IT environment.

Whether you're an IT leader, systems analyst, or security specialist, this walkthrough will ensure you get value from day one.

Step 1: Activate Your Free Trial

If you haven’t already signed up:

  1. Go to https://insights.block64.com/signup

  2. Complete the form with:

    • Your company name
    • Work email address
    • Company size
    • Data residency region

  3. Click Sign Up

You’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to activate your trial account.

Didn’t receive the email? Check your spam/junk folder, or submit a support request and we’ll help you out right away.

Once activated, you can log in at https://insights.block64.com.

Step 2: Get Started with the Walkthrough

When you log in for the first time, you’ll be guided through a “Get Started” flow that walks you through connecting your environment and exploring your first insights.

You’ll have two options:

  • Option 1: Connect your environment – Provide credentials for key integrations (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure, AWS) to start pulling in your organization’s real data.

  • Option 2: Explore the demo customer – If you’re not ready to connect data yet, you can still experience the platform’s capabilities using preloaded demo data.

This ensures you can start exploring reports and insights immediately, even if your data connections are not yet configured.

Step 3: Connecting Key Integrations

Integrations are the heart of your trial experience, they enable live data collection from the tools you already use, powering your reports with real insights.

To set up integrations:

  1. Click the gear icon (top right).

  2. Select Integrations.

  3. Choose a service and follow the prompts to authorize access.

Some of the most valuable integrations include:

  • Microsoft 365 – User activity, licensing optimization, and Microsoft Secure Score insights.

  • Microsoft 365 – OneDrive & SharePoint – Collects file metadata, access history, and risk indicators.

  • Microsoft Secure Score – Surfaces configuration and security best practices.

  • Google Workspace – User and license data for Gmail, Drive, and other Workspace services.

  • Azure and AWS – Cloud compute usage, cost insights, and security visibility.

  • Okta System Logs – Authentication logs to help you understand SaaS usage patterns.

Setup usually takes 5–10 minutes. The more integrations you connect, the richer and more actionable your insights will be.

Step 4: Exploring Reports

Once your data is ingested, or you choose to explore using the demo customer, you can start viewing and interacting with reports.

The trial highlights SaaS and Cloud reports to showcase how Block 64 helps you:

  • Identify unused or underutilized licenses and cut unnecessary costs.

  • Understand SaaS adoption and shadow IT in your environment.

  • Gain visibility into cloud resource usage and potential savings opportunities.

  • See security posture insights based on your connected data.

Other reports may appear empty until your data connections provide information for those areas.

Step 5: Trial Period and Subscription

Your trial gives you full access to dashboards, reports, and integrations for 14 days.

During this time, you can:

  • Invite team members to collaborate.

  • Export data for further analysis.

  • Explore real or demo data to see the platform in action.

If you need more time to evaluate, you can request an extension or subscribe anytime to keep your data and unlock full access to all features.

You can request a one-time extension for an additional 14 days to continue evaluating the platform.
